The United States Border Patrol holds a significant place in the nation's history, tracing its roots back to the early 20th century.
Established in 1924 as a part of the Immigration Act of 1924, the Border Patrol was tasked with enforcing immigration laws along the borders of the United States, particularly focusing on preventing illegal immigration and smuggling.

Initially, the Border Patrol consisted of a handful of officers who patrolled the borders on horseback, foot, and later, vehicles. Over the years, its responsibilities expanded to include safeguarding the country from various threats, such as terrorism, drug trafficking, and human smuggling. Today, the Border Patrol is a crucial component of the Department of Homeland Security, employing modern technology and tactics to secure the nation's borders.

In 2024, the United States Border Patrol celebrates its centennial anniversary, marking a century of service and dedication to protecting the nation's borders. The centennial anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the organization's rich history, its achievements, and the countless men and women who have served in its ranks over the years.
